NeoCon Trends + Takeaways

Our team just came back from NeoCon, where we joined the rest of our Kimball International family in the Chicago showroom! When our Design Team walked the Mart, they kept their eyes out for the latest trends in home office furniture. Here are the top three trends they saw:

Natural Color Palettes

Blush, sage, sand, grass, rust, wood...we’re seeing office furniture colors designed to bring the outside in. After 18 months spent largely out-of-doors, offices are valuing plant life; roofs, terraces, and other outside spaces; and colors that remind them of WFP (working from park!). Poppin’s office furniture and supplies reflect this growing trend, with furniture in Blush pink, Sky blue, and Sage green.

Creative Workspaces

As employees begin to return to the office, workspaces need to change—but how? As floor plans shift and corporations adopt hybrid work, decision makers are searching for conference and personal workspace solutions that don’t require costly constructions. Throughout the Mart, we saw alternative workspaces designed to add flexible delineation of space to the open office.

New this year were PoppinSpaces-like systems taking center stage for new hybrid work solutions. They’re being outfitted with more accessories, more configurations and more finishes.

Our PoppinPod collection of office phone booths and PoppinSpaces system of freestanding rooms is growing—stay tuned to see what we’ve got in store for your space.

Resimercial Design

The “resimercial” trend still reigns, bringing the coziness and comfort of work-from-home to the office. With home-like fabrics, warm wood finishes, and brass accents, working from the office is looking more like working from your living room. (And with the proliferation of hybrid work, teams are probably doing both!) Resimercial furniture, including our Velvet Meredith Lounge Chair and endlessly-flexible QT Adaptable Lounge system, brings the warmth of WFH everywhere teams work.
