Runway Rundown

NYFW by the Colors

While attending Fashion Shows can be a truly magical experience (you never forget your first time J), my favorite part of Fashion Week is hopping online every night and looking at ALL of the collections on my bible, aka www.Style.com. Unlike at the shows, on Style.com you can see everything, clearly and in detail. You can hop from designer to designer and figure out what the season’s trends are, whether based on styles, colors or hair and makeup.

I know this isn’t as exciting for everyone as it is for me, so I made a little cheat sheet for you. Because this is Poppin’s blog I looked for color trends in particular and have here the best looks in each of the seasons hottest colors.

In general, the shows this year were a nod to old Hollywood glamour, lots of jewel tones, and dresses, as opposed to last year when we saw a lot of military-inspired looks as well as some more schoolgirl-inspired looks. (This is a good sign, as fashion trends are often a reflection of the state of the world, the economy, military action, etc.). This years collections were uber mature and very chic. It’s not hard to tell which shows were my favorites based on the compilation below, a mix of old favorites and designers who really impressed me this year. Interestingly, a lot of my favorite designers didn’t put on my favorite shows this year.

Take some time to enjoy these looks and comment on your favorite colors for the Fall.

Happy Dressing!
