5. Take on Tasks You Like
Take a look around you – is there anything you’d rather be doing? Maybe you hate your job with a searing passion, but there’s a good chance there’s a job near you that would be at least somewhat fulfilling. Figure out what aspects of the job appeal to you and then offer a helping hand. If you’re a receptionist who’d rather be editing, ask if you can take on a small assignment. A web developer who’d rather be designing? Ditto. A sales associate who rather be merchandising? You get the idea. Explain to the powers that be that you’re looking to expand your experiences and make it clear that you’ll work on the project in your free time. Chances are, if you do a good job they’ll throw more of that work your way in the future. With any luck, down the line you can parlay that into your dream job. But even short of that, you’ll probably find work more bearable when you’re working on projects that interest you.
Great post ive bookmarked it on Digg under “5 Ways To Stay Happy Later | Poppin Blog”. Keep up with the good stuff.
