Welcome!

Work has been on our minds a lot lately. There’s sitcoms and movies parsing the modern office experience; books on how to shrink our workweeks and blogs on cutting back. But for all this buzz, there’s very little talk on how to make work happy. Oh mind you, people care about it. We hear them whispering about it by the water cooler, muttering under their breath on the commute in. It’s underground, but it’s definitely there: we want to be happy at work.

And why not? We’re there 8, 10, 12 hours a day. We spend more waking hours with our coworkers than spouses, more time talking to our bosses than kids. Certainly, for most, more time doing a job than pursuing our passions.

Lets change that.

Lets make the office the best damn place on earth. Lets start saying TGIM. Lets work happy.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be posting here on how best to do that. To be sure, they are steps, thoughts, musings. As much as we wish we could say otherwise, we don’t know of a single, magic formula. But we know that trying is sometimes half the battle.

Drop a note in the comments section if you have any thoughts about what sort of posts you’d like to see.

And, as always, work happy.
